What is Pocket Jockey?
Pocket Jockey is a motion and audio horseracing game.
What's the goal of the game?
The goal is to reach the finish line first. Either race solo against
the computer or compete against a friend that has Pocket Jockey.
How do I get my horse to run faster?
The closer you gallop to the beat, the faster your horse runs. Also,
whipping your horse will make your horse go faster. But if you whip
more than once every four gallops, your horse will slow.
How do I gallop?
There are 3 ways to make your horse gallop. You can hold your device
upright and jump up and down ("Jump Mode"), put the device in your back
pocket and bounce ("Pocket Mode"), or you can just tap the screen ("Tap
Mode").
Do I need to indicate which mode I'm playing?
No way! Just do what you want and we'll figure it out.
I'm trying to play "Jump Mode"but my horse isn't galloping...why not?
It's important that your phone is upright and perpendicular to the horizon. Make sure your phone moves up and down with you as you jump.
I'm trying to play "Pocket Mode" but my horse isn't galloping ...why not?
Your phone needs to be upright in your pocket. If it falls on its side, your horse may not gallop.
How do I whip my horse
If you're playing Jump Mode or Tap Mode, you can just flick back the screen. If you're playing Pocket Mode, slap your rear (where your
phone should be located).
How do I play multiplayer?
You and your competitor must both have the most recent version of Pocket Jockey. You also need to join the same WiFi network. Select
TWOPLAYER from the Main Menu and wait for the devices to connect. If
they do not connect, you should check to make sure you are indeed on the
same network. A poor WiFi network may result in difficulties
connecting.
Can I play against more than one competitor?
We're working on it. Stay tuned!
What do those bells mean? What are the numbers that pop up?
The bells show you the approach of the upcoming beats you'll
want to gallop. When you hit a bell, you'll see a number (0 through
10) that corresponds with how close you galloped that beat. The
higher the number, the closer you came to galloping right on the beat.
Does the horse on the outer edge of the track have a disadvantage?
Nope. Our horses disobey the laws of physics when the make turns around the tracks. All horses travel the same distance during a race.
